Local Guide
Zack is a fifth generation Rhode Islander who grew up spending summers in Narragansett. These are local favorites and personal recommendations for eating, exploring, and wandering around southern Rhode Island.
Eat & Drink
Coffee
Breakfast & Brunch
We’d drive up on Saturday mornings for coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and the best summer tomatoes, and spend a little time wandering the market.
Lunch
A true local ritual. We’d always have someone run down the street from Papa’s house for clamcakes if he wasn’t making them himself.
Dinner
A family favorite since it opened. It burned down last summer and is rebuilding, with the hope of reopening this summer.
Worth the drive. A longtime family favorite for Italian, and even after moving to Connecticut, recipes from Cucina Simpatica were in regular rotation.
Bars & Drinks
A great local spot, and right next to the wedding venues.
Fun Treats
We used to beg to come here at the end of the night. House made ice cream, and worth it every time.
The Rhode Island summer staple. Locals go classic lemon, and you squeeze the paper cup as you sip.
Things to Do
Beaches
This is the town beach where I grew up. Public access is available with a day pass, and non residents park in the West Lot.
Walks & Outdoors
An iconic town landmark. You’ll recognize it from the back of the save the dates.
My Papa used to have us count the seconds between lighthouse flashes, 1 2 3 lighthouse.
Culture & Landmarks
The Breakers is the most iconic. Check the Preservation Society site for what’s open to tour.
Shopping & Strolling
Right in town if you want that classic Rhode Island or Narragansett sweatshirt.
